The Tesla Universal Wall Connector is the definitive home charging solution for Tesla owners. Up to 44 miles of range per hour at 48 amps, WiFi connected for over-the-air updates and energy monitoring, power sharing for multiple units, and a sleek design. It also works with any EV via J1772 adapter.
Charging Speed
At 48 amps on a 60-amp circuit, you get up to 44 miles of range per hour. That means a full charge overnight easily. Even on a 30-amp circuit, you're getting 23 miles per hour — plenty for most daily driving.
Plug in when you get home, wake up to a full battery. It's that simple. I don't even think about charging anymore.
WiFi Connected & Smart
WiFi connectivity lets Tesla push firmware updates to the charger. It also enables energy monitoring through the Tesla app — you can see exactly how much energy you're using and schedule charging for off-peak hours to save money.
Power Sharing for Multiple Teslas
If you have two Teslas (we do 😅), you can install multiple Wall Connectors and they automatically share power between vehicles. No need for a separate circuit for each — they intelligently distribute available power. This saves a ton on installation costs.
Installation & Design
Indoor or outdoor rated (NEMA 3R). The 24-foot cable is long enough to reach from most garage wall installations. The connector itself has a clean, white design that looks great mounted on the wall.
Installation should be done by a licensed electrician. Expect $500-1,500 for installation depending on your electrical panel situation. The unit itself is $595 from Tesla.
Works with Non-Tesla EVs
With the included J1772 adapter (or NACS for newer non-Tesla EVs), this works with any electric vehicle. It's not just a Tesla product anymore — it's a universal home charger that happens to be optimized for Tesla.
What I Love
- 44 miles of range per hour at 48A
- WiFi connected with OTA updates
- Power sharing for multiple EVs
- Sleek, weatherproof design
- Works with non-Tesla EVs too
